LED lights are lights that have been designed to work via light emitting diodes. These diodes are usually semi-conductors and convert electricity to light through movement of electrons. There are different advantages of using LED lights.
These lights are energy-saving. They do not use as much energy as other traditional lights like the incandescent ones. This fact makes them cost-effective as users have to pay very little electricity bills as compared to using the incandescent lights that require extra energy.
The lights also have a longer life span than other lights. They can last up to 50,000 hours of lighting while the other lights last up to 8,000 hours.
LED lights are environmental friendly. They are designed with non-toxic materials which are also recyclable. The lights also do not emit infrared and ultra-violet rays which are not environmental friendly.
LED lights come in different colors. Some of these are amber, red, orange, yellow, blue, green and white. These have their own specific uses and are used to mean different things depending on where they are being used.
The LED red lights are commonly used in traffic lights. These are used to give the red sign. It means that the cars on traffic should stop. These are also used to stop pedestrians from crossing the road.
LED red lights are used in greenhouses. Studies show that the blue lights usually work especially in the morning hours, by opening up the plants to allow them to take in the required carbon dioxide. However, red LED lights are used to take the plants through the photosynthesis process.
The siren on police cars and ambulances use the LED red lights. These are usually used to signify that there is an emergency. Some remote control and televisions too also use the red LED lights. This is seen in 3D TVs and also 3D glasses. They use these LED lights to wirelessly transmit signals to each other.
